Varga Bar's 2nd Annual SuperFowl Wing Event

    Varga
    941 Spruce St
    Philadelphia, PA

The folks at Varga think chicken wings and craft beer are the perfect pair... and far be it from us to argue! In celebration of this dynamic dietary duo, Varga is holding its second annual SuperFowl wing event.
This competition pits customers against each other as they prepare and present their very best chicken wing recipes. The competition starts at 6 p.m. and the winner of the first round will move on to compete against Varga owner and chef Evan Turney. The winner will be announced at halftime during the Super Bowl.
Prefer eating wings as opposed to cooking them? No problem! Toss in $5 and you get to taste each competitor's offering and decide who'll move on to face Evan in the final round. The overall event winner will be decided based upon an audience-wide vote.
Interested in competing? Email rich@vargabar.com for more details. May the best wingmaster win!

Philly Beer Scene's first Beer Law Forum

    Yards Brewing Company
    901 N. Delaware Avenue
    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19123

We're hosting a friendly debate between renowned beer writer Lew Bryson and Pennsylvania Senator Chuck McIlhinney.
Senator McIlhinney has been writing a column in the magazine for us for a number of issues now and has been stirring up a bit of controversy, as there are many of you out there who seem to wholeheartedly disagree with him. If you've ever wanted to ask your questions directly to the Senator, this is your chance.
The forum/debate will be moderated by Tom Kehoe of Yards. Your questions are encouraged as we would like this to be a very interactive event.

This event will be open to the public. It starts at 7:00 in the Yards Tasting Room and the bar will stay open late for the duration of the event. Please be courteous of the event and realize this isn’t a social gathering and excessive talking will not be tolerated as we don’t want distractions from the forum and want to respectful of the Senator, Lew, and Yards for graciously donating their time.
